EDUARDO REZENDE

Born in Rio de Janeiro in 1977, was introduced to the world of art early in life, influenced by his mother, an art dealer. He began his professional journey in photography in 2001 and has since developed a distinctive visual language marked by graphic precision, expressive use of color, and a sculptural attention to the textures and forms of the urban environment. His work centers on the observation of spaces in transformation. Elements that would typically go unnoticed become silent protagonists. Even in the absence of human figures, his images carry traces of time, labor, and matter. Through his lens,Eduardo elevates the ordinary into visual constructions of striking graphic and chromatic impact. His photographs challenge perception: at times, it is difficult to tell whether what we see is flat or three-dimensional, a photograph or something beyond. They offer a new perspective on the world, inviting the viewer to find beauty and meaning beyond the obvious. Living between different cultures and geographies, Eduardo brings to his work a nomadic and contemporary gaze-one that sees the world through what is in flux, in ruins, or in the process of being rebuilt. His photography is always searching for what exists in between: between the visible and the veiled, between the surface and the substance, between what was and what is still becoming.

Nascido no Rio de Janeiro em 1977, foi introduzido ao mundo da arte desde cedo, influenciado por sua mãe, uma marchand. Iniciou sua trajetória profissional na fotografia em 2001 e, desde então, desenvolveu uma linguagem visual distinta, marcada pela precisão gráfica, uso expressivo da cor e uma atenção escultórica às texturas e formas do ambiente urbano. Seu trabalho se concentra na observação de espaços em transformação. Elementos que normalmente passariam despercebidos tornam-se protagonistas silenciosos. Mesmo na ausência de figuras humanas, suas imagens carregam traços do tempo, do trabalho e da matéria. Através de sua lente, Eduardo eleva o cotidiano a construções visuais de forte impacto gráfico e cromático. Suas fotografias desafiam a percepção: por vezes, é difícil dizer se o que vemos é plano ou tridimensional, uma fotografia ou algo além. Elas oferecem uma nova perspectiva do mundo, convidando o espectador a encontrar beleza e significado para além do óbvio. Vivendo entre diferentes culturas e geografias, Eduardo traz para sua obra um olhar nômade e contemporâneo — um olhar que vê o mundo através do que está em fluxo, em ruínas ou em processo de reconstrução. Sua fotografia está sempre em busca do que existe no entre: entre o visível e o velado, entre a superfície e a substância, entre o que foi e o que ainda está por se tornar.
